Who will be the #1 draft pick in this year’s NBA Draft?

As the current NBA season remains suspended many fans are already looking forward to the offseason, as they anticipate who could be drafted at the number one spot.

The team with the highest possibility of obtaining the number one draft pick currently is the Golden State Warriors, who boast a woeful 15-49 record as their season was riddled with injuries.

The Warriors who already have superstars such as Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson could use this pick to form a dynasty in the Western Conference as injuries have given them the opportunity to pick at such a premier spot.

There are three main options available for the Warriors as many analysts suggest they will decide between University of Memphis Forward James Wiseman, University of Georgia Guard Anthony Edwards, and Australian league star LaMelo Ball.

The Warriors who already have an amazing frontcourt should look to bring in a forward that can protect the rim and add versatility behind their superstar frontcourt.

James Wiseman who is a 7-foot-1 center would mesh nicely with the team even though he lacks amazing shooting ability, he will be a force in the paint.

Meanwhile the fan-favorite pick would be LaMelo Ball, who is the brother of New Orleans Pelicans forward Lonzo Ball.

The inclusion of LaMelo ball would cement the Warrior’s legacy as one of the greatest three-point shooting teams in NBA history. LaMelo who has already made a career of shooting half-court threes, and being an excellent passer would only bring more fandom around the organization.

The least likely option for the Warriors would be taking Guard Anthony Edwards. Anthony who is a solid shot creator is one of the most polished players in the draft, but would likely receive little playing time behind Warriors Guard Klay Thompson.

As NBA Draft day inches closer by the week final lottery orders will begin to finalize, and teams will prepare to pick their next face of their organization.

If the Warriors want a shooting machine, LaMelo Ball is their pick. If they are looking for a  defensive anchor Wiseman is their guy.

Regardless of who the number one pick is, his expectations will be higher than any other and must be aware of the pressures that come with the luxury of hearing his name called first in the 2020 NBA Draft.
